Marie walked for days exploring the streets, enjoying the shortcuts and alleyways, strolling along terraced walkways, and observing the way light fell on buildings and walls. Her new paintings comprise a personal and intimate reflection on Stoke Newington, focusing on the stillness and tranquility of the place. Marie takes delight in colour and form, and the play of light at certain times of the day.
